So we’re not just the sunniest place in the UK apparently, but most ‘holiday friendly’ too. Based on a survey by those nice people at Virgin Money Travel Insurance, including a number of criteria including accommodation. Good to hear – maybe we helped it up a notch or two.

Chill wind, frost-bitten fingers, a precarious ledge and vertigo. A great combination. Given the amount of mouthfuls I swallow on every swim it’s just as well – the sea on Eastbourne’s main beachfront has been upgraded from ‘Good’ in 2008 to ‘Excellent’ this year.
